The days are getting warmer and I am ready to refresh some spaces and show you how to style your bathroom shelves for spring.
As we near time to start spring cleaning, it is time to take down the winter decor, clean, and style some new fresh spaces.
We had this old piece of weathered wood that we decided to use for shelving. We found these 8 in. black industrial pipe shelf brackets at Home Depot.
You can construct your own shelves or find ones already constructed. Here are a few I found online.
When you are ready to start buying decor for your shelves, keep in mind that amount of space and depth of your working with.
You really want items to fit the scale of the shelves, so look for small to medium sized decor items.
I love the textures of a good basket, plus is can be useful to hold washcloths or even extra rolls of toilet paper.
What better place to put a candle than in the bathroom. You can light it when you have guests or just to add a nice scent to the space. We found some really pretty options that even add a great look to your shelves.
There is nothing that I love more than a stack of vintage books. The look and the texture an add height to any space. These can easily be color coated to match your current season.
You can find a fern garland like this at Michaels.
If you are anything like me and you forget where you place your “real” plants than faux greenery may be for you. I love the look of a cascading plant to fill a space. You can also add in a garland or a milk glass vase with some florals to your shelves. These mini faux plants from Michaels worked perfectly in my terra cotta pots.
We use jars in our bathroom to hold extra items like Q-tips, cotton balls, and even floss! This is the perfect way to not only be functional but also add in some neat fun colors and textures.
From vintage art to a pretty glass bottle, you will see me sprinkle in vintage decor wherever I can. These green vintage bottles just scream spring to me.
Now that you have found the perfect decor for shelves, what next?
Depending on the height and length of your shelves will determine the amount of space you have to work with.
Sometimes you may have less length but more height, so use that when styling your shelves. You will want to make the space feel leveled with decor, while not overcrowding it.
You want to create a cohesive look so when you have height, be sure fill any awkward spaces with smaller items. You can group like items such as canisters, books, etc.
Use textures and different materials to break up the spaces and draw interest to the entire shelf and not one item in particular.
Most of all play around with the space. Sometimes you need to walk away, or just stand back and take it all in. The inspiration will come to you, just work through the process.
Thats my tips for how to style your bathroom shelves for spring, I hope this inspires you to decorate yours spaces and have fun while doing it.
