Why You Need a Spring Cleaning List

It is very important to set aside time each year to plan a deep cleaning of you home. We all feel better when our home is clean, and organized.

Spring cleaning will help you get rid of the accumulation of dust, and even mold or mildew.

why do you need a spring cleaning checklist

We have pretty rough winters here in Pennyslvania so it is important that I make sure no water has come in and that me and my family stay healthy and happy.

I have created this spring cleaning list to help you get some ideas on how to refresh your home this spring.

Room by Room

When creating your checklist you want to start with cleaning tasks you will need to do for each room of the house.

So first what tasks will you need to apply to each room?

Let’s take a closer look at what we can do in each individual room to get it ready for spring.

The kitchen gets most of your family traffic.

You share your meals and snacks in this space.

So it is very important to make sure you deep clean this space.

  • Dust the top and wipe down the front of your cabinets
  • Clean the inside and outside of your microwave
  • Dust off the top and sides of your refrigerator
  • Wipe down your windows

  • Wipe down your light fixtures

Living Room

A living room is a space we often gather with our family and friends and spend time watching tv and relaxing.

You just need to do a few things to get this space in order and ready for spring.

  • Shampoo your carpets
  • Vacuum/shampoo your furniture
  • Dust your electronics and furniture
  • Clean your windows
  • Dust light fixtures/fans
  • Wash baseboards
  • Touch up paint/wipe down walls
  • Vacuum + mop floors

Bathroom

Bathrooms always need extra special attention, especially in my house full of boys.

Pay close attention to things you don’t do on a normal basis, and focus on those.

  • Scrub and bleach your bathtub and your shower + toilets
  • Clean out your cabinets and drawers inside and out
  • Wipe down and bleach your sinks
  • Be sure to wipe down + disinfect your doorknobs
  • Replace the shower liner and wash your shower curtain
  • Dispose of outdated medication
  • Scrub and mop your bathroom floor
  • Clean your exhaust/ac fans

Bedroom

This is a place for rest and relaxation, and it can accrue a ton of dusts over the winter months.

So you want to make sure you give it a deep clean after a harsh winter.

  • Wash your sheets and blankets
  • Replace your pillows
  • Rotate + flip mattress
  • Wash your blinds, windows, curtains
  • Vacuum floor and under bed
  • Dust all decor, shelves, dressers, doors, and frames
  • Wash baseboards

Laundry Room

Not one of our favorite places, but definitely one that sees a lot of hard work.

A ton of dust and junk ends up in this space, so it needs a deep clean!

Thank you for these lists! Know what we need to do but actually seeing your lists makes it somehow easier to get ready to complete what needs to be done! Does that make sense???

I love a good DIY project, and helping people create warm and cozy spaces in their homes. So if your someone who is ok with me being a hot mess express, a legging wearing, top bun sporting, kind of girl, then let's be best friends! You can never have enough friends right? I am a natural born nurturer, who always leads with my heart. I have learned it is ok to say no sometimes! My advice to you, take chances, in the end, you will regret the chances you did not take.
