Celebrating 100,000 Followers on Instagram

Hey friends! I am so excited to be here today celebrating 100,000 followers on Instagram @thecuratedfarmhouse. It all started June 18, 2016. This was my very first post ever posted to instagram. Can you believe my very first IG photo had five likes. So needless to say I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

I was just a sign maker, trying to get my products in front of new customers. I had no clue what I was journey I was about to embark on.

We were prepping to retire from the Army in a few years, and I knew we would need an additional income. So even though I had zero interest in Instagram or figuring out what a hashtag was, I knew I needed to.

After I spent a few hours scrolling Instagram I was instantly hooked on farmhouse decor. The visual appeal of beautiful homes was engulfing. This was my first try and staging a space in my home.

Some of you may recognize this bed. It is the same one I have now, but wow it looks different now. I had no idea how to decorate a space. Can’t blame a girl for trying.

You can see with time my bedding decorating skills slowly got a little better. May mom made me this farmhouse bedding coverlet.

My Instagram photos were not edited, not filtered. I literally had no clue what an Instagram grid was. My aesthetics were not very appealing, but I was just having fun sharing my little spaces.

I love a good DIY project, and helping people create warm and cozy spaces in their homes. So if your someone who is ok with me being a hot mess express, a legging wearing, top bun sporting, kind of girl, then let's be best friends! You can never have enough friends right? I am a natural born nurturer, who always leads with my heart. I have learned it is ok to say no sometimes! My advice to you, take chances, in the end, you will regret the chances you did not take.
