This easy winter chili recipe isn’t fancy, simple to make, and an absolute must-make for your family on chilly winter nights.

It’s November and now that colder days are here, we can start to share winter recipes right? Don’t you just love cold-weather comfort foods? Your family is sure to love this easy winter chili recipe, it will become a family favorite. Since it is more on the sweet, then the heat side, all ages will run to the dinner table, when this is on the menu.

Sweet Winter Chili

Who doesn’t love a big bowl of hot chili on a cold day? Add a little cheese and sour cream, and you will love this comfort dish! We are so excited to share my husbands chili recipe with you today! Once he made this, our search for a good chili recipe was over. Hands down, this is literally the best chili I have ever eaten. It’s definitely a recipe you will add to your collection.

How Do We Make This Amazing Chili?

We use basic ingredients listed below. Such an amazing balance of textures, spies, and flavors are sure to please! We did not include onions because our kids don’t like them, but they are a fun addition for flavor!

Easy Winter Chili Recipe

This quick and easy recipe, made with basic simple everyday ingredients is sure to keep you and your family warm on cold winter nights.

you will need

  • Crock Pot

ingredients
  

  • 1 Green Pepper finely chopped
  • 1 Red Pepper finely chopped
  • 1 Yellow Pepper finely chopped
  • 1 Orange Pepper finely chopped
  • 2 Cans Sweet Corn Do Not Drain
  • 1 Can Dark Red Kidney Beans Do Not Drain
  • 1 Can Light Red Kidney Beans Do Not Drain
  • 1 Stick Butter
  • 2 lbs Hamburger Meat 75-80% lean (You want the Grease) Do Not Drain
  • 1 Packet Chili Mix
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tbsp Mesquite Seasoning
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Onion Optional

instructions
 

  • DIRECTIONS:
    1. Put your crockpot on high. Add both red and dark kidney beans into the crock pot. Dump out 3/4 off the juice from can and keep about 1/4 of the juice.
    2. Finely dice up all your green peppers. Add butter to pan on medium heat. Dump your cans of corn (do not drain) and your peppers. Sprinkle your salt, pepper, onion, and garlic powder onto the vegetables. Sauté on medium heat for about 10 minutes.
    3. Brown your hambuger meat in a pan, sprinke you mesquite seasoning over meat once it has browned. Do not drain the grease. Now add the meat to the crockpot.
    4. Next add you vegetables, chili powder, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper to the crockpot and stir.

Once all of you ingredients are added, leave the crockpot on high for 2-3 hours. Then decrease temperature too low or warm until you are ready to serve. 
Top with cheese and sour cream.

Steps

Wash your peppers and strain water
