We are so excited to share our Woodloch Resort fall family vacation details with you. I love fall and why not stay within our state of Pennsylvania for a weekday getaway? As a family of four we always try and find fun new vacation spots, and Woodloch Resort did not disappoint.
When researching a weekend getaway, I was looking for a resort close enough to home, and allowed us to do both fun indoor and outdoor activities. My kids love to keep buys and Woodloch had everything we needed and more.
The Woodloch Resort in located in Hawley, Pennsylvania in the Pocono Mountains. The resort is all inclusive including meals, room, and amenities included in your package price. Be sure to check their website before your purchase your trip to see what sales and promotions they have going on.
When we drove up to Woodloch, especially in the fall when the leaves just started to turn, I was in love instantly. The staff was so friendly, everyone smiled, and greeted us in a fun yet professional manner.
We arrived to the resort about 12 pm. When you check in you receive a welcome packet. This has the property map, the days activities, and your Woodloch experience bands. These bands are your all access pass to everything you need at the Resort. Woodloch does offer a room ready guarantee between 5-6 pm on arrival day. However we were able to check in when we arrived, which was a great bonus for us.
We stayed in the Edgewater Suites which sit right next to the lake. This was a one bedroom suite in the Springbrook building. You can walk directly down the hallway to the pool, which was very convenient for us.
Right when you walk in there is a huge walk-in closet, which is great if you travel like us and have way too many suitcases.
The view is just incredible. The living room has one regular couch, and a sleeper couch. There is also a huge patio with chairs so you an enjoy a cup of coffee while you gaze at this beautiful view.
I love that these suites not only have two queen size beds, they have two bathrooms as well. There is also another walk in closet in the bedroom, so plenty of room and hangers to hang everyone’s clothes up.
With two teenage boys, and a very outdoorsy husband, Woodloch kept us busy as bees. We went onto the website and looked up Woodloch activities, before the trip so we could see what the boys wanted to do while we were at the resort. We only had two days, so I wanted to be prepared.
Each morning at breakfast you are given an outlined activity sheet, that shows the schedule for the day. You can also find this online under the “do” tab each day. Everything from the menu, competition, games, and so much more. Woodloch has over 1,600 acres of nature, so everyone in your family will find something to keep them happy.
We decided to do the escape room, the kids were so excited. This was an additional cost, but worth every penny. It was fun to spend an hour working together to try and escape this game themed room.
These are so many activities included with your stay at Woodloch Resort. From batting cages, go-karts, rock climbing, to bumper boats, there is definitely something for everyone.
This was the walkway right outside of our room, you can stroll to the pool, or head toward the park and outdoor activities.
You are sure to see a ton of wildlife such as chipmunks and deer while staying at Woodloch. This little guy was enjoying some nuts while saying good morning to us.
Woodloch has both indoor and outdoor pools for you to relax at. Kids of all ages will love the pools and splash zone, and there are also hot tubs for the parents. This was one of my favorite spots during our vacation.
There are so many amazing places around the resort to relax and take family photos too! There are a ton of beautiful backgrounds for you to snap some amazing photos for you to treasure years to come.
The kids had so much fun playing and meeting friends at the playground at Woodloch. From the swings to the mini zip lines your littles will stay buys for hours. There is also a nearby Tiki Bar and all the lakeside activities such as canoes, paddle boards, and so much more.
One thing for sure, you will not go hungry during your stay. Woodloch has a ton of dining options for you during your stay. They have a standard 2 or 3 meal plan. We chose the three meal plan, because my family loves to eat. I would highly recommend the all inclusive meal plans, so worth it! This also includes coffee, sodas, and teas.
The food was absolutely amazing, even our picky eaters were happy.
You could not beat this view from our table. I love that you sit at the same table for all of your meals, for your entire stay. It was so personable, and also having the same wait staff, was amazing. They got to know us, and we got to know them, it felt like home.
Speaking of food…Did you see our Fried Green Tomato Recipe on the blog last week?
If you know me, then you know I have to figure out where the coffee is, I mean it is the way I start my day, everyday. Gigi’s Coffee House, was amazing.
These seasonal favorites tasted so good, of course I had to try a new one each morning. The staff was so amazing they also have shakes and grab and go snacks.
Woodloch has its own shuttle service, which you can use to get around the entire resort, except lakefront. This is nice if you don’t want to walk. We didn’t need to use it, everything was very close and within walking distance to our room.
I have to say that one of my favorite parts of Woodloch was the evening shows. Spending time as a family and laughing after dinner was the perfect ending to a wonderful day.
The first night was a comedian and the second was a magician. We literally laughed so hard, it was a great feeling.
Right after the show on our last evening at Woodloch was BINGO! As you can seem little won $50 and was not ready to share the winnings. I did however get to keep the coffee mug!
As a parent one of the most amazing feelings is when you haven’t even finished the vacation yet, and your family is already talking about the next time you come back.
There is something very special about the Woodloch Resort. They make you feel like family, and you never even have to leave the resort. Everything you need is within reach to your room. The entire time I was there I could picture Woodloch being somewhere we would come for vacation for years to come. There is something very nostalgic about this wonderful place, you just have to experience for yourself.
Well worth the trip, no matter where you are coming from. You and your family will not be disappointed!
