These colorful mugs are a gorgeous simple craft made with nail polish. How perfect is this Dollar store DIY marble mug dip technique? You can make a pretty mug you can keep or giveaway as a gift?
Fill the pan with 2-3″ of water. I marked the side of the pan with a sharpie, that way after I dipped each mug and lost water, I could easily refill.
Add one or multiple colors of nail polish depending on your desired marble effect. Use a toothpick and swirl around the nail polish.
Dip the mug directly down into the water. Pull out immediately keeping the mug upright. You only want to dip once, do not dip multiple times. Once the mug dries you can flip it over, and dip the other side if you wish. They look super cool with only have the mug done as well.
The marble effect is so cool. We mixed red and green, however it did turn out to be more of a pink than green.
One cool thing is after a few minutes the nail polish begins to harden and you can use a toothpick to remove right off the water. The water is then clear again and you can use other colors without having to dump the water.
