DIY Hobnail Milk Glass Vase Materials

Materials

You can find most of these items (besides spray paint) at your local dollar tree. I am linking materials from Michaels since I cannot link them to dollar stores.

Steps

  1. Clean off glass with warm soap & water (remove any stickers)
  2. Pull apart individual pearl stickers and remove clear adhesive that connects each one.
  3. Dab a small amount of super glue onto the glass vase where you will be placing the pearls. Since these are stickers you can skip this step if you like. The paint will seal the stickers to the vase.
  4. Continue around the vase until it is covered in pearls.
  5. Spray paint the entire inside and outside of the glass vase. Use multiple coats to cover glass and pearls. Let dry in between coats.
  6. Add your favorite greenery and you are done!

Let’s Get Started

Pull off the sticky pearls from adhesive

To start you will want to pull apart individual pearl stickers and remove clear adhesive that connects each one. You will have to cut them, in retrospect I would have just used the pearls from the craft section at Michaels that are already separated. But this was a way cheaper option.

Glue Pearls

Add E600 glue to vase

Take your super glue and dab a dot of glue in a triangle pattern around the complete vase. If you are going for a traditional hobnail look you will do this over and over until you complete the entire vase. Again you can skip this step the paint will adhere pearls to the jar. I did one both ways to see how they each held up.

Place the pearls on the glue dots. Press firmly and make sure they are completely dry before moving on to the next step.

Paint

I chose to use white chalk spray paint to paint the vase. You could also use chalk paint. Let it dry on one side or stand up to paint entire outside and inside then once that is dry you can spray the bottom.

Beautiful DIY

How cute is this? It truly looks like a milk glass hobnail vase at first glance for sure. I want to try this in the spring and make some different colored vases.

I love a good DIY project, and helping people create warm and cozy spaces in their homes. So if your someone who is ok with me being a hot mess express, a legging wearing, top bun sporting, kind of girl, then let's be best friends! You can never have enough friends right? I am a natural born nurturer, who always leads with my heart. I have learned it is ok to say no sometimes! My advice to you, take chances, in the end, you will regret the chances you did not take.
